Maintenance Skills of Diesel Engine in Use

Diesel generating units can be divided into two types according to their usage: one is based on Municipal electricity, the other is backup power supply equipment for generating units, and the other is based on generators as main power supply equipment. There is a big difference between the two kinds of generators. The maintenance of diesel generators is usually determined by the cumulative hours of start-up. The above-mentioned power supply mode only tests for a few hours every month. If the cumulative two or three technical maintenance hours are accumulated before technical maintenance, the time will be too long. Therefore, it should be flexibly grasped according to the specific situation and timely technical maintenance can be carried out as soon as possible. Eliminate the bad phenomena of the machine, ensure that the unit is in good condition and prolong the service life of the machine. Therefore, in order to make the diesel engine work normally and reliably, the technical maintenance system of the diesel engine is implemented. The technical maintenance categories are: 1. 1. Maintenance inspection (daily or weekly).
Secondary Maintenance Inspection (every 250 hours or a month)
3. Three-level maintenance inspection (every 1500 hours or half a year)
Note: 1. Three-level maintenance, intermediate maintenance and overhaul maintenance should be done by diesel generator distributors or distributors.
2. The standby generator should start the diesel engine set regularly for about 30 minutes to evaporate the moisture in the diesel engine body, so as to achieve the functions of moisture-proof and anti-corrosion.
(1) A Maintenance Inspection
< 1 > Check oil level
Use the oil gauge of the diesel engine to check the oil level. In order to get the reading, the oil level should be stopped for 15 minutes. When the oil flow returns to the oil pan, the oil scale should be matched with the original oil pan, and the oil level should be kept as close as possible to the high "H" mark.
Warning: Never operate a diesel engine when the oil mark is lower than the low mark "L" or higher than the high mark "H" (if necessary, add oil of the same quality and grade in the diesel engine).
< 2 > Check cooling system
Keep the coolant filling up to the working level, check the coolant level every day or before the start-up, analyze the reasons for the consumption of coolant, check the coolant level, only after the cooling system is cooled.
< 3 > Check the connection of intake pipe
Check the connection of the intake pipe, whether the clamp is loose, whether the hose is cracked, perforated or worn, whether the hose is broken or other damages, tighten the clamp or replace parts as needed to ensure that the intake system is well sealed and that all air passes through the air filter.
< 4 > Appearance examination
Check for leakage of external air, coolant or oil. Tighten the screw connection, joint, etc. or replace the gasket as needed. Check the caps of each filling pipe of the oil gauge to see if they are tightly fastened.
< 5 > Check the damage
Check the fuel system, including the fuel pump error investigation or bruising situation, check all connection leakage or damage.
<6> Check the driving belt
Inspection fan, water pump, charger belt damage or relaxation, buckle damage should be renewed. And adjust the tightness, if necessary, ask professional technicians to adjust.
Matters needing attention in maintenance
1. Low lubricant pressure.
2. Insufficient power.
3. The temperature of coolant or oil is too high.
4. Overconsumption of coolant, oil and fuel.
5. The engine sound is abnormal, the smoke color is abnormal and the exhaust pipe is red.
Secondary Maintenance Inspection
In each secondary maintenance inspection, the following items should be added to complete the whole maintenance inspection project:
Warning: Adhering to regular secondary maintenance inspection is very important to improve the maintenance of generators. The direct result of diesel engine operation (including load factor and fuel consumption) is oil contamination. After repairing the diesel engine, the new oil is added, instead of the oil released from the oil pan.
Replacement of Diesel Engine Oil and Oil Filter
1. Start the diesel engine to reach the working temperature. Stop the engine and unload the oil screw (or open the oil discharge switch) from the bottom of the oil pan to release the oil.
2. Loading the oil-feeding bolt back and tightening the torque of the bolt: 35-40 feet-pounds for Cummins LTA10, 6CT, 6BT, 4BT, Perkins 1306, 9TAG and 1006TG, 45-55 feet-pounds for Cummins NTA855, K19 and Perkins 2006 TAG (61-75 Newton.m); 60-70 feet for Cummins V28, K38, K50 and Perkins 3008TAG and 3012TAG. - Pounds (81-9 Newton.m.).
3. Turn down the combined oil filter, fill the new oil filter with clean prescribed type oil, tighten the gasket by hand until it touches the filter, and then tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turns.
Note: Tightening the filter head with tools will cause deformation or rupture.
4. Fill the crankcase with the specified type of engine oil and go to the "H" high mark on the oil gauge.
5. Start the diesel engine and inspect whether there is oil leakage.
6. Stop the diesel engine and wait 15 minutes for the oil to flow back into the oil pan. Re-use the oil gauge to check the oil level and add it if necessary.
<2> Replacement of Diesel Oil, Water and Air Filters
Remove the diesel filter, water level and air filter, and add clean diesel oil to the new diesel filter. The water level can be installed directly without additional water. The installation method is the same as the above "oil filter installation method". Clean air filter interface or dust collector can be installed again.
<3> Cleaning crankcase ventilator
Decomposition crankshaft calculation ventilator body, with specified
